Lage der Sprachschule

AICOL wurde 1993 gegründet. Es ist die älteste englischsprachige Schule an der Goldküste. Alle Lehrer sind englische Muttersprachler, voll qualifiziert und erfahren.

Kurse werden für Schüler ab 6 Jahren bis zu Senioren angeboten. Die Unterrichtsräume sind klimatisiert und verfügen über Tageslicht. Das Schulgebäude befindet sich direkt gegenüber des Southport Broadwater Parklands, wo das Schwimmen für die Commonwealth Games 2018 stattfinden wird.

In nur 5 Gehminuten erreichen Sie das Australia Fair Shopping Centre, Bushaltestellen und das kürzlich fertiggestellte Stadtbahnnetz

AICOL bietet einen eigenen Homestay-Vermittlungsservice sowie Flughafentransfers an. AICOL kann auch Aktivitätsbuchungen für Studenten vornehmen, wobei eine große Auswahl an Aktivitäten zur Auswahl steht.

Die Gold Coast bietet 42 Kilometer wunderschöne Strände, ein hervorragendes Klima und ist nur 45 Minuten vom Weltnaturerbe Lamington National Park entfernt.

Lage der Schule

Das AICOL befindet sich in günstiger Lage, nur 3 Gehminuten vom Australia Fair Einkaufszentrum im Southport Central Business District mit mehr als 200 Fachgeschäften und einer internationalen Food Hall entfernt. Die Schule ist nur 45 Minuten vom weltbekannten Lamington National Park entfernt.

Die neue Gold Coast-Stadtbahn, die Southport mit der Griffith University, Surfers Paradise und Broadbeach verbindet, wurde gerade fertiggestellt und bietet eine sehr gute Anbindung an die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel in der Nähe unserer Schule. Das neue Gold Coast Aquatic Center ist ebenfalls gerade fertiggestellt und liegt direkt gegenüber unserer Schule. Die jüngsten Pan Pacific Swimming Championships wurden dort abgehalten, und die Commonwealth Games 2018 werden sich auch auf Southport und die Gold Coast konzentrieren.

I liked the classes but I was expecting to develop my conversation skills more.
I also liked the staff.
The classes had too many Japanese students but I cannot blame the school for that.
The extra activities were good but could be better. For example: Sea world, paradise country.
My host family was wonderful.

April is the Japanese Spring holidays, so naturally there will be a predominance of students from japan, but we appreciate your understanding and acceptance of the situation. The school had two classes for children. Overall, I did a lot of talking but very little of grammar. There were also too many exits out of school for activities which were not strictly related to teaching English.

Thank you for the feedback. We are always conscious of the need to balance study with activity, especially for young students. When activity is part of the classroom lesson, we do try to structure it so that it contains a learning experience. Having said that, we cannot get it right all the time, and we are sorry if your experience with us was not totally satisfactory. I have passed your comments on to our Director of Studies so that we may be aware of them when structuring future curricula.

As a general comment, please note that due to covid the circumstances of many of our regular homestay families have changed. Consequently, it has become more challenging to find good families. There is great demand for homestay families at the moment, so it is a matter of first come first served.

Students can choose to be placed with one of our homestay families, who will drive the student to school each day and pick them up after school if required. Families are located within an average of 20 minutes driving time by car from our school.

All families offer a caring and welcoming place in which students may learn about Australian culture and way of life, and practise their English. We try as best as possible to match each student with the most suitable homestay, according to the student's needs.

All homestay families are interviewed and their homes inspected, and all homestay family members over 18 years of age must hold blue cards (police clearance checks). Many of our homestay families have been accepting international students for 10 or more years, and are very experienced.

Our homestay families accept international students from 6 years of age. All students are given full details of their homestay families before they come to Australia, and the students and their parents are able to contact the homestay families direct before arriving in Australia.

"In terms of this course, is it solely based in Ho Chi Minh city? Is there no course that this student could take in Australia itself ?"

The course is registered in Australia, but we have decided at this stage to
only deliver it in Vietnam through the Australia Vietnam School of English.
We have enquiries before to offer the course in Australia, but the numbers
have never been enough to run the course. This is because we refuse to
discount our fees to compete with other providers in Australia. So, to
answer your question at this stage we are not running the course in
Australia.

"Can an Austalian student take TESOL course in Vietnam?"

In fact we get quite a few Australians doing the course in Vietnam, especially those who are perhaps looking for a change of life, or have retired and want to stay active, or even those who have lost their jobs and want to retrain.

"1. The students are ages 14, 12 and 10 years old, but I see that the program is only for ages 6 - 12 years old. Can you make an exception and accept the 14 year old student? 2. Can you confirm that this program runs year round and not just in the summer? They want to study for 10 weeks."

1. This is not correct. Our Young Learner course is from 6-12 years however we offer courses for all ages from 6 years through to adults, parents and grandparents. The 14 year old would probably be best suited to our High School Preparation course which is the same price as the Young Learner course.
2. Yes our YL course and HSP course runs all year.

I regret to say that I have only received notice of your question., Yes, we accept students 15 years of age. In fact we accept students from as young as 6 years of age, both on tourist and on student visas.
